Did you know that Valpo’s Astronomy Faculty host an Observatory open house every other Friday night?
These open houses are free to the community and students. On clear nights, you will be able to use the observatory’s telescope to set your sights on the Moon, Saturn’s rings, and constellations in the night sky. On not so clear nights, the open house will be in the Neil’s Science Center Planetarium, where you will be given a tour of the night sky and where you can learn about different constellations and how to find them when you look up into the vastness of space. The next open house will be Friday, October 18th at 8:30-9:30 pm. It is an amazing sight, and even if you are not interested in Astronomy, it will still take your breath away with the beauty that can be seen.
