About

Valparaiso University Television (VUTV) operates under the principle that a well-informed community is a strong one.

-From the VUTV Mission Statement

Illuminate. Educate. Showcase. –  Our station welcomes students of all majors and backgrounds to tap into their creativity and produce quality content for broadcast television.

Valparaiso University Television (VUTV) operates a closed-circuit television signal and movie streaming website (movies.valpo.edu) that are both available to the campus of Valparaiso University. VUTV is a recognized Tier 1 student organization through the Valparaiso University Student Senate.

Programs

This year also brings many opportunities for new and improved original content. 15 News at 5, VUTV’s flagship news program, will air LIVE Monday’s at 5 PM. We will also continue to air weather updates straight from the newly designed 15 Weather Center. In addition, we produce Weather with Blake and Heather. Tune in to Channel 15 for these and more original programming.

Our History

VUTV was founded to share the stories that make up Valparaiso University and the surrounding community. Now in our 9th year of operation, VUTV has expanded both in size and in variety. VUTV’s content and operations reflect those of a small market television station, giving students invaluable experience before going off into the work force.

Movies.Valpo.edu

VUTV boasts a movie-streaming service on campus (movies.valpo.edu). We’re happy to report that over 100 movies will be added to our collection. These movies will be available all year long, free of charge, to everyone connected to Valpo WiFi. In addition, Channel 15 will broadcast popularly selected mainstream TV shows. We encourage you to request movies and TV shows for the months ahead by sending an email to vutv.programming@valpo.edu

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our organization, feel free to email us at vutv@valpo.edu or stop by our office in Schnabel Hall Room 11.
